To help support this we are recruiting a Strategic Financial Advisor for Housing, reporting to the Corporate Director of Financial Services. The role will develop and lead an expert professional finance offering to Housing services, including supporting the formulation of the Councils’ Medium Term Finance Strategy, and leading on the HRA Business Plan and Housing Strategy. They will be the Councils finance expert on Housing and will be expected to provide considered financial advice to senior officers and Councillors to ensure that the Council’s financial resources in Housing are managed effectively. They will also be required to undertake special projects, technical and statistical financial work, including option appraisals and financial modelling.
To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified accountant with a significant understanding of housing finance including developing a HRA Business Plan. Proven experience of supporting decision making with senior stakeholders and the ability to interpreting complex financial information is essential. Experience of leading and improving teams, ideally supporting Housing services, is also essential.
