Senior Manager – Children’s Finance

You will be responsible for overall financial management and business partnering support for a gross budget of £335m (including DSG) across the following service areas –

  • Children’s Social Care
  • Early Help & Prevention
  • Education & Inclusion

The postholder will lead a team of staff with responsibility for providing a wide range of financial services, including the provision of specialist and strategic advice and information and support to key transformation programmes, using a business partnering approach. The role will involve working in close partnership with the Children’s Services Leadership team, Senior Finance Officers, Schools and Members.

It is a hugely exciting time to take on responsibility for the financial management of the Children & Families function, with a number of significant transformation programmes underway to deliver as part of our 2024-28 MTFS.

You will be a CCAB Qualified Accountant with extensive finance business partnering experience at a local authority or similar, with Children’s Service experience being highly beneficial. However, we are happy to speak with candidates across the public sector disciplines.

We are looking for a passionate and resilient manager, who can build strong working relationships across finance, children’s services and external partners in order to deliver results and ensure the financial sustainability of children’s services.
