Are you an experienced and self-motivated Procurement Manager seeking a standalone role with no line management responsibilities? Join a forward-thinking university and play a pivotal role in shaping its procurement strategy while operating independently.

About the Role

As a Procurement Manager, you will:

Manage and coordinate procurement activities across the university, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and value for money.
Partner with academic and operational teams, including the Programme Development Group (PDG) and Infrastructure & Capital Board (ICB), to deliver timely and effective procurement solutions.
Lead large-scale tenders, including catering, utilities, and IT, while supporting smaller tenders and ad hoc requests.
Develop and maintain key systems such as the contract register, tender waiver register, and conflict of interest register.
Provide expert advice and training to staff on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:
CIPS qualification (or currently studying) – MCIPS ideally
Experience leading tender processes from requirements gathering to contract signature
Strong drafting skills for tender documents and policies
Familiarity with public procurement frameworks and compliance requirements
Proficiency with IT tools and systems, including MS Office and procurement software
Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
Experience working in the public sector

Desirable:
Knowledge of higher education or further education
Experience with systems like Agresso or similar finance/procurement platforms

Job Opportunity: Procurement Manager
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Location: South East London – 2-3 days onsite per week required
Interviews: Middle of January
