Hackney Council has set themselves some ambitious plans for the Council and borough, focused on helping achieve the best outcome for residents, changing the way we deliver services and always putting our residents and communities first. The Council has a key role to play in driving economic recovery in a way that builds community wealth and continues to make the borough greener and fairer. It will also work to support those impacted by the cost-of-living crisis and post pandemic, as well as continuing to build affordable homes and improving the private rented sector to help those impacted by the housing crisis.
To support these ambitious plans the Council is looking to appoint two Heads of Finance who will provide strategic leaderships for the Directorate they are supporting.
The Head of Finance Housing and Regeneration will lead a team providing strategic financial leadership for the directorate, ensuring the Medium-Term Financial Strategy is delivered alongside service priorities including some large regeneration projects. They will need to foster professional working relationships with the Strategic Directors of Housing Services and Inclusive Economy, Corporate Policy and New Homes to provide financial support and advice to aid decision making. Key responsibilities will include;
- Taking a lead on HRA finances including the HRA business plan
- Providing strategic financial advice to the Housing Regeneration programmes including options appraisals, viability assessments and financings option
- Being the finance lead for housing companies
- Supporting the Area Regeneration projects of the Council
To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified accountant, with proven experience of leading and developing teams, embedding a high performance and value adding culture within a HRA or regeneration setting. Evidence of managing and directing major service delivery initiatives is also essential.
Hackney Council offers a hybrid working arrangement. At the Head of Finance level there is an expectation you will be in the office a couple of times per week.
For more information about the role or for a confidential discussion please contact Will Ryan at Ivy Rock Partners firstname.lastname@example.org or 07909030965.
The closing date is Monday 27th March.
