You’ll be there to provide expert professional support to the Head of Financial Accounts, Deputy CFO and wider Finance Directorate in the operation of the university’s Financial Accounting function. Deputising for the Head of Financial Accounts as required. The primary function of the role will be leading the preparation of the university’s group financial statement schedules and co-ordinating their audit and managing the day to day relationship with the university’s auditors. The role holder will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong financial control environment and infrastructure, including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of the university’s chart of accounts structure. The role will be the primary representative for the Financial Accounts function on significant departmental and university development projects. The role holder will form and maintain strong working relationships both within the Finance Directorate and the wider university to ensure that strong financial controls are pervasive and being properly implemented and reviewed.
