Chief Operating Officer (COO)

London-based - Flexible and Hybrid Working Available

The Chief Operating Officer is part of the Leadership Team for Malaria No More UK (MNMUK) and suits an ambitious leader who will relish the opportunity to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organization.

MNMUK has a straightforward objective – to end malaria. In a rapidly changing world where fashionable issues come and go, the global community must be relentless in pursuing the end of a disease which is believed to have killed up to half of humankind. Although a relatively small organisation, MNMUK is recognised as a strong voice and thought leader in the global malaria campaign; and the COO will play a key role in the success of the organisation.

The individual will lead all support functions including Finance, HR, Legal, IT and Planning; and take responsibility for the organisational development of Malaria No More UK. Working closely with the Chief Executive and other Directors, the COO will develop a people strategy which enables all staff to achieve their fullest potential at MNMUK whilst being able to live healthy, balanced lives.

This hands-on post requires a high level of entrepreneurialism, resilience and practical ability, combined with wide-ranging operational experience.

A passion for ending malaria is critical. Whilst we are fairly open on profile in order to attract the right quality, this would suit someone on a clear upward career trajectory – this could even be your first senior leadership level role. You will hold an accountancy qualification but see the bigger picture outside of Finance. We are less concerned about your length of experience, and more with your demonstrable rapid learning.

You will need to be able to appropriately balance:

  • strategic thinking AND operational detail
  • enabling the agility needed for an advocacy organisation AND influencing best practice with process and governance

To Apply:

MNMUK recognises the value of a team in which people from diverse backgrounds are able to introduce fresh ideas and contribute to delivering our mission to make Malaria No More. Candidates from historically marginalised or underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
