Agile Project Manager

Central London

Our London based Not-for-profit client have an immediate requirement for an Agile Project Manager to join their growing team.

The key project is to work on a large new custom web-based application project, rebuilding the organisations core business system, working alongside stakeholders, users and the development team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the system project, including ownership of the agile processes, systems and reporting.

Key responsibilities for the Agile Project Manager:

  • In conjunction with the key stakeholders define the project scope and Agile sprint schedule to focus on regular and timely delivery of the new application to the Business.
  • Deliver the overall project to the agreed time, cost and desired quality.
  • Organise and lead project status and working meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute project progress reports.
  • Identify, manage and communicate risks and issues associated with the project, and correct any deviations from plans.
  • Ensure the required project disciplines (governance, planning, monitoring, reporting, risks, issues, resource management, and finance) are all in place, and communicated accordingly.
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution.
  • Collaborate with other team members and key business stakeholders to maximise productivity and ensure cohesion towards the project goals.
  • Work with external developers to manage sprints, ensuring the effective implementation of the required functionality, identifying and communicating any issues.
  • Facilitate Project Board meetings, delivering updates and progress reports and working with the Board to agree decision points or correct any issues raised to that level

Key skills for the Agile Project Manager:

  • A strong understanding of software development life cycle models, as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • A recognized Project Management qualification, relating to Agile techniques.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a technology development environment with multi-function internal and outsourced teams.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira or Microsoft Azure DevOps to manage an Agile process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Can demonstrate good Stakeholder Management skills at all levels of seniority within the business.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands and prioritise tasks
